Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we accept children throughout the year as long as space is available in the appropriate program. We understand that families move or have changing needs throughout the year, and we try to accommodate these situations whenever possible.

Is Highland Christian Academy accredited?

Yes, Highland Christian Academy is accredited through the Florida League of Christian Schools (FLOCS) and recognized by The Florida Department of Education Division of Early Learning as a Gold Seal Quality Care Program. These accreditations ensure that we meet and exceed standards for educational excellence and childcare quality.

What is your teacher-to-student ratio?

Our teacher-to-student ratios vary by age group to ensure appropriate supervision and individual attention:

- Infant Program: 1:4
- Toddler Program: 1:6
- Two's Program: 1:8
- Three's Program: 1:10

Yes, we provide breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks for all full-time students. Our meals follow USDA guidelines and are prepared fresh daily. We accommodate food allergies and special dietary requirements with proper documentation from a healthcare provider.

Part-time students receive snacks, and those attending during meal times receive those meals as well. A monthly menu is provided to parents so they know what their children will be eating each day.

What curriculum do you use?

Highland Christian Academy uses a blend of Christian and developmentally appropriate curricula tailored to each age group. For our preschool programs, we use Abeka and Creative Curriculum. These programs integrate biblical principles with academic learning in language, math, science, social studies, and creative arts.

Our VPK program follows the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards while incorporating Christian values. For our School Age Program, we provide homework support aligned with local school curricula and enrichment activities in various subject areas.

Highland Christian Academy offers limited financial assistance to qualifying families based on need and availability. We also accept School Readiness subsidies through the Early Learning Coalition for eligible families.
