Our history, mission, and vision for Christian education
To provide a structured educational program that develops the whole child - mentally, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
At Highland Christian Academy, we recognize that each child is a unique creation of God with special gifts and talents. Our mission is to nurture these gifts in a Christ-centered environment that fosters academic excellence, spiritual growth, and character development.
We strive to provide a balanced, quality education that equips students to reach their full potential while instilling Christian values that will guide them throughout their lives.
To be a lighthouse in the community, guiding young children to grow academically, socially, and spiritually in a safe, loving, Christian environment.
We envision our students emerging from Highland Christian Academy with a solid educational foundation, strong moral compass, and genuine love for learning that will serve them well as they advance in their academic journey.
Our goal is to partner with families to raise up a generation of children who are not only academically prepared but who also exemplify Christian values in their interactions with others and in their service to the community.
First Baptist Church of Apopka opened its childcare facility with a preschool program for infants through 5-year-olds, establishing a foundation of Christ-centered early education in our community.
The ministry expanded to offer before and after school care for grades K-5, extending our reach to serve the needs of elementary school families in our area.
We became Highland Christian Academy and began to see the opportunity for growth for our preschool program, focusing on high-quality Christian education.
We introduced the Voluntary Pre-School and School Readiness program which allowed us to reach out and help our community. We are now Accredited through the Florida League of Christian Schools (FLOCS) and recognized by The Florida Department of Education Division of Early Learning as a Gold Seal Quality Care Program.
Today, Highland Christian Academy continues to grow and serve the Apopka community, providing quality education with a strong spiritual foundation to children from diverse backgrounds.
Highland Christian Academy is founded on Biblical principles and a commitment to Christian education. We believe in:
"Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:6"Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men."
Luke 2:52We invite you to visit our campus, meet our staff, and see firsthand how we're nurturing young hearts and minds in a Christ-centered environment.
